Abstract

In a greenhouse experiment, total P removal by wheat was found to be correlated well with the supply parameter (k1k2)1/4 (qc/k1k2)1/2 and cumulative desorption of phosphorus in four soils derived from different agro-climatic regions of north-west India. The quantity and intensity relations of these soils could be defined by a Langmuir-type equation, q=k1c/k2+c. A highly significant linear relationship was found to exist between cumulative desorption and the supply parameter indicating that either of these two indices can successfully define P supplying capacity of the soil
