A study was conducted to find out the effect of sulphur application on the quality of plants, seed and oil of raya in greenhouse. All the free sulphur containing amino acids (methionine, cystine and cysteine) increased with increasing sulphur application up to 120 ppm whereas the bound sulphur containing amino acids increased only up to 90 ppm sulphur, beyond which they showed a decline. Methionine content was the highest followed by cystine and cysteine. Free acids formed less than 10 per cent of total S-amino acids. Sulphur containing amino acids had significantly positive correlation with dry matter yield at both 50 and 130 days of crop growth.
