Abstract

Physiography and its soil association's boundaries were delineated dividing the Haryana State into nine main zones: Siwalik hills (Fresh water tertiaries) Dissected rolling plain; Interfluvial plain; Active and Recent flood-plain (Jamuna and Ghaggar); Table land water divide; Ancient Chautang flood-plain; Relict wedge plain: Pre-cambrian hills and Piedmont plain; and Low land plain. Three soil moisture regimes—Aridic, Ustic and Udic, have been extrapolated on the map. Soil associations up to great group level for each zone were formulated with the help of fourteen representative soil profiles.
