Abstract

Comparative efficiency of farmyard manure, poultry manure and rice straw with and without zinc on zinc availability to maize and soybean was evaluated in a calcareous soil under greenhouse condition. On the basis of the dry-matter yield of maize, grain yield of soybean and uptake of zinc, the performance of different organic amendments follows the trend: poultry manure=farmyard manure > control > rice straw. Substantial build-up of available zinc in soil was observed by the use of above amendments.
