Abstract

A detailed soil survey of command area of Abichenmethong canal in Ladakh was conducted. The studied typifying pedons showed the presence of sandy-skeletal, silicious, frigid, Typic Cryorthents and coarse loamy, silicious, frigid, Typic Cryorthents. These soils were classified in C and D classes of soil irrigabillty and suitable management practices are suggested.
