Abstract

The effect of different zinc concentrations on the self-diffusion of zinc in alkaline and calcareous soils of divergent texture was studied. A linear increase in the self-diffusion coefficient of Zn with increasing concentrations of applied Zn was noted in all the soils. The capacity factor decreased with an increase in concentration of applied Zn. The diffusivity of Zn was higher in fine textured soils as compared to those in coarse textured soils.
