Abstract

Incubation study of medium black clayey calcareous soil with the application of iron (FeSO4-7H2O), FYM and elemental sulphur at various soil moisture regimes showed that FYM å 10 t/ha, S å 80 ppm and Fe å 10 ppm significantly increased the availability of iron. The effect of these treatments was more pronounced as incubation period increased up to 42 days. There was three-fold increase in available iron when the moisture status of soil was raised from 5O per cent of field capacity to saturation.
