Two field experiments were conducted on alkaline loamy sand soils to study the effect of Rhizobium inoculations (with and without Mo under pelleting and non-pelleting conditions) on pea, irrigated with waters of different residual sodium carbonate (RSC) levels (3,6 and 9 m.e./l). Rhizobium inoculation (non-pelleted) proved to be the best of all the treatments for pod and straw yields in both the years of study and also increased the content of total N in the soil significantly. The ECe, hydraulic conductivity, and total N in the soil and pod and straw yield decreased and pH and ESP values of soils increased with increasing levels of RSC in water in both the years.
