Sulphuric acid method for the determination of soil moisture using disturbed samples has been evaluated for the use in soils of varying CaCO3 and organic carbon contents. The method is adjudged suitable for soils of varying texture containing calcium carbonate concretion up to 3.6 per cent, chloride up to 0.8 per cent and organic matter up to 1.62 per cent. The procedure correlates very well with the standard thermogravimetric procedure.
