Abstract

Laboratory experiments were conducted with acid, alluvial, red and laterite soils growing rice, to study the effects of flooding on the changes in their true lime potential. Flooding of these acid soils resulted in an increase in lime potential along with rise in pH. Therefore in acid soils, where the pH increases on flooding for growing rice, lime potential appears to be of very little significance.
