Abstract

To ascertain the hidden hunger for micronutrients in sugarcane crop grown in calcareous soil and also to find out the most suitable time for foliar application of micronutrients, an inorganic mixture containing 8.7% Fe, 5.7% Mn, 11.3% Zn and 0.09% Mo was used as a spray during the middle of July, August and September and so also in August, September and October as two different treatments. The yield of sugarcane increased significantly by such foliar application and the period mid-July to mid-September was found to be the best.
