Abstract

Field experiments were conducted at Upper Shillong (1800 m above msl) in the state of Meghalaya to study the direct and residual values of lime on the yield and uptake of nutrients by maize. Application of lime equivalent to 25% of lime requirement gave appreciable direct and residual effect on the grain yield and neutralized exchangeable Al. Liming augmented the uptake of P and Ca.
