Abstract

In a study conducted to evaluate the water requirement for reclaiming saline soil (fine loamy calcareous mixed hyperthermic Typic Camborthid) it was observed that on leaching equivalent depth of water, the original salt content of the layer was reduced by 65 to 90%. For estimating salt content (of the layer) a relationship between (Ef-Ee)/(Eo-Ee) and Ds/Dw has been established with the help of which the water requirement/final salt content of a given layer of soil could be evaluated.
