Abstract

Experiments were conducted on cultivators' fields to study the response of maize and wheat to applied potassium on soils differing in available potassium. Maize responded up to 90 kg K2O/ha in low and medium K soils and to a dose of 60 kg K2O/ha in soils high in K status. Response of wheat was observed to a level of 90 kg K2O/ha on soils low in potassium and up to 60 kg K2O/ha on medium and high K soils.
