Abstract

The study pertains to the effect of humic acid on the adsorption of oxamyl on sodium saturated kaolinite, illite and montmorillonite. In all cases, the adsorption decreased with rise in humic acid concentration and became constant with 25 mg of humic acid on kaolinite, 40 mg on illite and 75 mg on montmorillonite. The order in which humic acid, clay and oxamyl were mixed affected the adsorption. The adsorption fitted the Freundlich isotherm.
