Abstract

Field studies showed that when S became limiting, non-protein N increased. Application of S resulted in an increase in total as wellas non-protein S and total and protein N contents. Critical S concentration in wheat plants was 0.18 and 0.15 per cent in flag leaf and whole plants, respectively. The critical NIS ratio on the other hand appeared to be constant at 16.0.
