Abstract

In a pot culture experiment, phosphorus application increased the yield and content of and phosphorus uptake by groundnut. The magnitude of response was maximum in low P soils. The Olsen's extractable P gave significant positive relationship with pod yield only in medium P soils and haulm yield for all the soils, but it gave negative relationship with pod and haulm yield in high P soils. The critical limit of Olsen's extractable P for this variety of groundnut was 23.5 kg P2O5 ha−1, while that for P concentration in pod and haulm were 0.26 and 0.15 per cent, respectively.
