Bray's PI extractant was rated the most suitable methodfor the soils of Kullu. Bahl, Una and Paonta Valleys. Highest degree of correlation between P extrracted by this method and growth parameters of soybean was the criterion of raung. The critical limit by this method was 16.0 ppm P. Saloid P fraction accounted for the major variaton in available P extracted by this extractant and yield parameters of soybean.
