Abstract

Sweet orange grown on Inceptisols was significantly superior to those grown on Alfisols and Vertisols with respect to fruit weight, fruit juice, TSS and total sugar content of fruit juice. Per cent fruit juice. TSS and sugars showed significant positive correlation with available N content of soils. Reducing sugars of fruit juice correlated significantly (positively) with soil Nand P2O5 contents. Sathgudi was found superior to mosambi as it recorded more fruit weight and better fruit quality.
