Some soil test methods were evaluated for predicting response of oats to manganese in alluvial soils. DTPA-CaCl2 was found to be most promising extractant in view of its high relationship with uptake of Mn by plants and relative yield. The critical limit was 6.8 ppm to Mn application and critical Mn concentration in oat plants was 28.0 ppm.
