Abstract

Effect of different factors on NH3 voliltilization losses were studied under laboratory conditions. The losses of NH3 increased with increasing ESP of soil at all the soil water regimes. Effect of water content on NH3 voliltilization losses was found in the decreasing order: flooding>saturation>field capacity. At 9 and 25 ESP levels the NH3 volatilization losses were higher upto 15d, whereas at higher levels losses continued upto 42d. Addition Of organic mailer and plilcement of urea at 10 cm depth decreased the losses over no addition of organic mailer and surface broadcasting, respectively
