In a field experimenton an acid Alflsol, lime application increased available P both before and after the crop to the extent of 87.2 and 125.8 per cent, respectively. It also increased appreciably the content of Al-P (100.1%), followed by Ca-P (68.5%), Fe-P (39.3%), organic-P (36.2%) and saloid-P (25.6%). On the other hand, application Of inorganic P increased organic P content by about 100 percent. The effect of P application was more pronounced in organic and total P build up than that of lime application. Correlations between grain yield and P uptake with different P fractions of the soilwere significant and these fractions were also related positively with Olsen P.
