Abstract

Organic manures of different forms were added to test their effects on sodium adsorption ratio and pioneer (Sorghum variety) performance. To reduce the sodicity of the soil, organic manures were added. The SAR decreased at the top soil (0–60 cm) and increased downward due to leaching of soluble salts. The permeability of soil was improved and consequently the physical conditions. Chicken manure gave the best results for pioneer growth. Yield and yield components as well as protein content were increased by the addition of different treatments. Stem diameter was the most affected parameter.
