The adsorption behaviour of six soils belonging to great group Typic Chromusterts, Typic Pellusterts and Typic Ustropepts was studied using Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The adsorption maxima and bonding energy constant were worked out. The influence of soil pH, organic carbon, calcium carbonate, clay, iron and manganese oxides on adsorption maxima and bonding energy and the variations of these parameters within a soil body are discussed.
