Abstract

CaCO3-concretions and ferruginous nodules in tall and soils of Bihar occur in vary in 8 proportions. CaCO3-concretions are of irregular shape whereas the ferruginous nodules are round. High SiO2 in CaCO3-concretions and higher in ferruginous nodules indicate that sand fractions are the nuclei leading to their precipitation. R2O3 of soil is significantly correlated with R2O3 of both types of concretions. The low percentage of these concretions in tal land soils may be due to longer period of submergence.
