Abstract

675 plant samples of wheat at earhead emergence (top two leaves) from seven benchmark soil series of northern and eastern states of India were collected and analysed for N, P, K, S, Ca, Mg and micronutrient cations. Significant relationships between soil test and foliar content of K, S and Zn. observed in different soils of different series suggest that foliar analysis may be used in monitoring the nutrients in soil. However, relationship between soil and N and P levels of foliar was not significant.
