Abstract

Application of lime and potassium increased the pH of the Alfisol, the effect of potassium being negligible. Besides, liming significantly decreased the different forms of Al and Fe and acidities and so did the potassium application. Exchangeable, pH-dependent and total acidity of lhe soil decreased. The amelioration effects of acid soils following lime and potassium application increased significantly the yield of grain and straw in a wheat-soybean-linseed cropping sequence.
