Cation exchange capacity (CEC) of the soils of Kathiawar Peninsula showed close correlation with content of clay followed by that of silt and organic matter (OM). Multiple regression equation relating clay, silt and OM content with the CEC of the soils could be used precisely for predicting the eEe of the soils having less than 40 per cent clay.
