Abstract

P application to onion crop grown on a hill acid soil had a tremendous positive influence on the bulb yield and P uptake. However, incorporation of FYM along with P, on an average, further improved the bulb yield and the P uptake. The P use efficiency both from fertilizer and native soil source was maximum at lower dose of applied P and declined correspondingly as P application rates increased. The overall increase in P use' efficiency was 26 per cent following FYM application.
