Abstract

Eight soil series were identified in the valley of Soan river. The soils are alluvial, light textured, generally deep and neutral to saline. Taxonomically the soils are Entisols and Inceptisols. The productivity potential of these soils is fair to good and could further be improved by adopting fertilizer and manuring schedule.
