In a field study conductedat Palampur a significant increase in cropyields of potato andmaize could be obtained with the increase in NPK doses. The FYM and closer spacing also significantly increased the crop yields. The N, P and K uptake by all the three crops in a sequence (potato-maize-potato) increased with the increase in NPK doses. FYM application had the same effect, but the effect of spacing in general was not significant.
