Abstract

Total sulphur in soils of Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh varied from 95.7 to 143.6 mg kg−1 soil. The mean values of organic-S, SO4−2-S, non-SO4-S, water soluble-S and heat soluble-S were 33.5, 13.1, 72.1, 17.7 and 26.5 mg kg−1 soil, respectiveiy. Approximately 62 per cent soils studied were found to be deficient in sulphur.
