A greenhouse trial conducted to study the effect of diluted distillery waste water in sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L) Moench) crop grown on a clayey Typic Chromustert, indicated that, with 75 per cent of the recommended fertilizer application irrigating with the distillery waste water the yield was at par with 100 per cent recommended dose of fertilizer application with normal water irrigation. The percentage utilization of applied N, P and K through fertilizer were more in distillery waste water irrigation with 75 per cent fertilizer dose than with normal water irrigation with 100 per cent fertilizer dose. After the crop harvest, the values of electrolyte conductivity, organic carbon, available N, P and K in soil were higher with the usage of effluent water than with normal water at the same level of fertilizer application.
