Abstract

In soils collected after harvest of mung (Vigna radiata), quantity-intensity relationship (Q/I) was derived. Labile P (Qo) increased but P intensity indices decreased by the application of P fertilizer. Tangential buffering capacity also registered a decline with applied P. Bray P1 had the highest positive correlation with labile P. thereby indicating a large contribution of the former for loosely held phosphorus in soils. The negative correlation between P intensity and various P availability indices suggested a decline in the strength of P retention with the rise in P doses applied in soils. Similarly buffer capacity factor also possessed negative correlation with P availability indices.
