Abstract

The rate of phosphorusfixation of 14 acid soils from different agroclimatic zones of India is satisfactorily described by second order kinetic rate equation. Rate constant was individually related significantly with soil pH. Soil properties (pH, Al3+,Fe3+, clay, CEC and organic carbon) contributed jointly 53.1 per cent variation in rate constant. The partial contributions were pH 28.1 per cent, pH + Al 43.6 per cent and pH + Al + clay 49.0 per cent.
