Abstract

Unsaturated water transmission parameter, viz. soil water diffusivity D(θ), unsaturated hydraulic conductivity K(θ), and pressure head relationship h(θ) in six typical soils, two from south, two from central and two from north-western Gujarat state were evaluated in specially designed plexiglass columns. Scaled soil water diffusivity D(θ), unsaturated hydraulic conductivity K(θ) and pressure head h(θ) vs reduced soil water content (θ) were developed to estimate D(θ), K(θ) and h(θ) values of any soil from its easily determinable characteristic length.
