Abstract

This study revealed that the application of phosphorus only up to 60 kg P2O5 ha−1 increased significantly the tuber yield and also the uptake of nutrients by the crop. Likewise, the application of FYM @ 10 t ha−1 also significantly increased the tuber yield with increased uptake of N, P and K nutrients. The P and FYM application showed a synergistic interaction effect on uptake of N, P and K and ultimately on the tuber yield of potato. Maximum tuber yield as revealed from pooled data of two years (19.3 t ha−1) was obtained in the treatment where P was applied @ 60 kg P2O5 with 10 t FYM ha−1.
