Linseed oil coated urea and a urea polymer, called NPK ammelide (synthesized by heating for 15 minutes a mixture of urea, superphosphate and muriate of potash) gave higher dry matter yields of spring maize than the same amount of N as urea. In the following maize crop raised in the same pots, the above treatments performed the best in terms of their dry matter yields. Plant nitrogen content and soil N data at harvest supported the yield trends.
