Abstract

Desorption of adsorbed Zn in soils in relation to soil properties was studied with 12 surface soils from Alfisols and Inceptisols rice zones of West Bengal. The added Zn desorbed from Alfisols was low, indicating their greater fixing ability than Inceptisols. Simple correlations and multiple regression analysis between amounts of Zn desorbed and soil properties show significant relationships where from conclusions have been made on how soil properties influence plant availability of added Zn in different soils.
