Application of Different Forms of Urea for Rice

A liquid urea injector based on International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) design was developed. The performance of the unit was evaluated in comparison with prilled urea, urea supergranule (USG) applicator and broadcasting of urea. Application of liquid urea in subsoil at 10 per cent concentration increased the nitrogen uptake by 24 per cent than the control. The grain yield was 22 per cent, 15 per cent and 15 per cent higher than control, application of USG and prilled urea in subsoil respectively.
