Abstract

In pot culture studies with acid Alfisol (pH 4.9), amended with flyash, highest dry matter yield of soybean (14.78 g pot−1) was obtained in treatment receiving 16% (w/w) flyash. A drastic reduction in plant growth was observed at higher levels (> 16% flyash). Flyash application increased pH, organic carbon as well as available P and K status of the acid soil. Microbial activity was also higher in flyash amended soil.
