Abstract

The kinetics of Al desorption in unbuffered normal potassium chloride were investigated for three acid soils of Khasi Hill of Meghalaya using various kinetic expressions. Relatively high values of r2 and low values of standard error of estimate (SEb) indicate that desorption of soil Al by 1N KCI for the soils used was best described by two-constant rate and Elovich equations. The constants estimated by these two kinetic equations were directly related to AI desorbed from the soils.
