Abstract

In a field experiment conducted for two consecutive kharif seasons in 1991 and 1992 on a limed and unlimed Typic Haplustalf acid soil of Ranchi, straw and pod yields, oil content, oil yield and uptake of Ca and S by the crop increased significantly up to 300 kg ha−1 of gypsum application under limed as well as unlimed conditions. The effect of applied gypsum on groundnut was higher in limed soil. Pod yield, straw yield and oil content also increased significantly.
