The phosphorus fixing capacity of mountain agricultural soils from north-west Himalayas was found to be fairly high, the average being 16.5 cmole kg−1. Further, it was influenced by clay, followed by silt, exchangeable, extractable, amorphous and crystalline forms of Al and Fe.
