Abstract

Application of the organic manures hada significant influence on nutrients uptake by potato at different growth stages. The tubers accumulated more nutrients while uptake by haulms declined with maturity. Application of farmyard manure (FYM) and mushroom spent compost (MSC) appreciably enhanced the N, Fe and Zn uptake which were almost comparable in their effects whereas the P uptake was significantly increased by FYM. MSC application significantly enhanced the uptake of K, Ca and Mg by potato shoot and Mn uptake by both shoot and tuber. All the manures were comparaole in tuber uptake of K, Ca and Mg.
