Abstract

Two soil profiles, one each from coastal (Ramalayampeta) and Telengana (Tirmadi) regions of Andhra Pradesh, were studied. Morphological properties and analytical data show that these soils may be buried by allochthonous overburden forming a double profile. These soils may be classified as Thapto-Tropofluventic (fine loamy) Haplusterts and Thapto-Haplustalfic (gravelly clay) Ustropepts, respectively.
