Abstract

A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of liming and Rhizobium inoculation on the yield, nodulation and nutrient uptake of soybean on Kanhaplohumult of Manipur hills. Liming increased the grain yield by 60 per cent. Inoculation increased the grain yield. Lime and Rhizobium interaction was significant for grain yield, nodulation, Nand P uptake. Response of Rhizobium inoculation was more pronounced during the second year. Liming improved the soil nutrient status and inoculation increased the total Rhizobium population in the soil.
