The adsorption and desorption of zinc and copper were studied in Alfisols, Inceptisols and Vertisols of Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. The adsorption of Zn and Cu was found to be higher in Vertisols followed by Inceptisols and Alfisols. Stepwise regression analysis revealed that the adsorption of Zn and Cu was mainly influenced by clay content, CEC and organic carbon. The sequential desorption of Zn and Cu indicates that DTPA extracted relatively higher amounts of adsorbed Zn and Cu as compared to CaCl2 and Mg(NO3)2.
