Abstract

Investigations carried out to study the effect of duration of rice-wheat cropping system on some physical and chemical properties through analysis of soil samples collected periodically revealed that continous practising of rice-wheat rotation has resulted in formation of hard pan in subsurface layers (0.15–0.30 m), build-up of available phosphorus and DTPA-extractable micronutrients and depletion in available potassium status in soils.
