Forms of iron and aluminium were studied in dominant Debatoli and Pusaro acid Alfisol series of Bihar plateau. The studies revealed the presence of different forms of iron and aluminium in the following decreasing order: Crystalline>amorphous>organic->xchangeable. Transformation of amorphous forms to crystalline forms was more in Debatoli than in Pusaro series and the former is relatively older than the latter. Their amorhous and crystalline forms seem to be the functions of the same pedological factors.
